Formcraft partnered with global law firm, Kennedys, to deliver a new workspace that redefines agility in the legal sector. Representing a major shift from traditional office assignments to a fully hybrid model, the outcome of this project combines flexibility, hospitality and technology. The result is a unified, light-filled environment designed for connection, comfort and the unique requirements of the firm’s international standards.
Project Goals

This prestigious law firm sought to create a workspace that would reflect its global brand standards and respond to the evolving expectations of its U.S. team. The objective was to design an environment to support hybrid work, maximize natural light and promote fluid movement and collaboration. Working within a tightly managed schedule and budget, Formcraft aimed to balance performance with design quality. The end vision was a workspace that would align with the firm’s international standards and local culture, providing a sophisticated, technology-enabled experience for attorneys and administrative professionals.

Design Concept

The new office represented a major cultural shift for the local legacy design, transitioning attorneys from assigned offices to an agile model where all employees share equal access to all workspaces. Guided by Kennedys’ corporate workspace and furniture standards, Formcraft’s design provided each workspace with identical furniture and accessories to support equitable flexibility. A significant portion of private offices were located at the building’s interior to free up natural light and exterior views for shared open workspace areas.

Workspace Planning

Neighborhood-style planning was key to achieving comfort and connection within a highly functional legal environment. The plan prioritizes intuitive wayfinding and equitable access, with private and shared spaces interwoven to encourage spontaneous collaboration. The architectural layout and finish selection were carefully coordinated to accommodate the building’s existing walker duct infrastructure delivering power and data throughout. A digital reservation system allows employees to book offices and workstations, displaying occupant names and availability in real time: an essential tool for managing flexible use while maintaining transparency and accessibility.

Design Finish & Palette

The design interprets Kennedys’ typical palette parameters with local refinement. Blonde woods, black and brass fixtures, and neutral tones of ivory, cream, taupe, and gray contribute to a calm yet professional atmosphere. Subtle botanical motifs and accents of mint, sky, and honey add softness and warmth. Client-facing areas feature statement stone backsplashes, refined pendant lighting, and custom metalwork cabinetry, reinforcing sophistication and attention to detail. Plants, digital art frames, and styled accessories introduce an element of hospitality, aligning the workspace with modern expectations of comfort and care.

Technology & Experience

Technology played a central role in supporting the firm’s agile approach. Integrated systems manage workstation reservations and display occupancy, while acoustic telephone rooms with adjustable lighting provide quiet zones for calls and focus. This blend of physical and digital experience ensures every user can move fluidly through the day, working wherever they feel most productive - without barriers of hierarchy or ownership.
